economics and accounting courses that you took in college. Basic theoretical knowledge is often forgotten the day the final examinations are over. Practical lessons about Wall Street are learned for a lifetime and reveal the otherwise mysterious world of financial trading as your perception of markets broadens your horizons.
You want to learn to think like a trader. You also want to learn how to learn. Your education as a trader and investor will never end; that's why the Wall Street Journal publishes a new edition every day. The news, business events, and their weighted interpretation are forever evolving. The objective of your training is to grow, mature, and change as an individual and to become a competent trader, and not just a DAET trader.
My strongest suggestion is to attend a quality training program. Alternatively, find a qualified DAET firm that has the expertise and is equipped to give the best hands-on trainingit will make the entire difference.

Choosing A Trading System
The markets are changing so dramatically and the regulatory environment is changing so quickly that your trading system has to be a living system that is able to change as regulatory and competitive criteria dictate. What is state of the art today is old hat within months. In order to keep on the cutting edge of technology, your system will have to be updated regularly.
The only way for a first-class DAET order execution system to be faster than current standards is to insert probes directly into the human brain. Right now all that is necessary for an order to be executed on a premier trading system is to touch a button. Order execution is as fast as the click of a mouse. Until we can access the human brain or execute orders by telepathy, there will be no faster way to access the market and execute an order.
