The ALL TECH window is sandwiched into the middle of Chart 1-1. This invaluable tool shows traders the Island Book and the SelectNet Ticker. The Island Book displays current trades on the Island ECN. The SelectNet Ticker displays the most recent trades on SelectNet. Both these tickers show actual executions and not amorphous dealer quotes which may never have printed at the quoted prices. There is a great difference between quotes and trades. My quoted price for selling my house may be $500,000. There may be several bigger, better houses on my block that recently sold for half that quoted price. See the difference? |

The right-hand middle box is the MarketMinder window. This informs you of prices in all markets and stocks that you deem meaningful. I call this box the "Christmas tree" because the indicators are green or red. When all the indicators are green, every indicator is going up and thus the markets are going up. When all the indicators are red, the markets are going down. |

The Status box is on the right side of the bottom row of Chart 1-1. It provides a running tally of the status of every trade you have executed or tried to execute for a particular day. It will also track your open positions by constantly popping them to the top line in this window. For example, the top line of the Status box shows that at 11:18:15 hours, the trader sold on SelectNet 1000 shares of INTC (Intel Corp.) at a price of $79 per share, status EXE (executed) with an identifying number of TARA9712INTC10003911. The identifier earmarks each trade so that no trade will be lost. |
